From The Chairman's Desk...
As we look ahead to the Fall season, the children returning to school, we are beginning to plan our 3rd Annual Community River Clean-Up project.
The first two clean-ups have removed about 3.5 tons of debris from our local waterways.
Although our industrial members (Colonial Pipeline, Hatco-Chemtura, Hess and Motiva) foot the bill for these clean-ups, and we are most greatful for their financial support, the manpower for the clean-ups come from our youth. Boy Scout troops, and the Ecology Clubs and Enviornmental Sciences students from our 3 High Schools. We are looking forward to working with the kids again and having another successful River Clean-Up project this year.
We will also be continuing our working with the elementary school children and expanding our "Safety Day" Emergency Services Program. This unique outreach program is an all day interactive program, where our Emergency Responders (Police, Fire, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Emergency Management, and our Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and our own CAP Volunteers demonstrate for the students how they use their equipment to keep all of us safe.
This program is offered to our schools FREE of charge. We have visited Schools 9, 11, 24, 26, and The Camp PACE Extended School Year program. We have 3 programs scheduled for September at School 21, School 28, and School 14. We will be revisiting these schools in the Spring and adding additional schools for April, May and June.
The Industrial Members of the C.A.P., who call Woodbridge their home (Colonial Pipeline Co., Conrail, Hatco-Chemtura, Hess Corp., Motiva Enterprises, PQ Corp., & PSE&G) sponsor ALL our programs and they really do care about our township !! We THANK ALL of them for their contributions and their compassion for our residents and our enviornment. They are truly GREAT Neighbors in our GREAT municipality.

From the Chairman's desk:The Woodbridge C.A.P. is working for Woodbridge ! The C.A.P. is expanding our Emergency Services "Safety Day" Program to include FIVE (5) locations this year. We are very exceited to bring this program to Robert Mascenik School #26 on May 3rd, to Port Reading School #9 on May 20, to Kennedy Park School #24 on May 25, and we have 2 dates to be announced for Matthew Jago School #28 and to the Camp PACE ESY Program. This program is brought to all students in these schools, grades K-5, by the Industrial Members of the C.A.P. as part of their committment to "give back" to the community. With the budget crisis in the school district and the elimination of the D.A.R.E. program, It is our pleasure to bring our Emergency Responders from our Police, Fire, EMS, and other responding agencies into the schools and teach the students about the safety and life-saving techniques used to keep us safe and to learn about what our responders do. I want to extend a special THANK YOU to All our Emergency Services for their cooperation and dedication to our great municipality, and in a special way to the Schools that have allowed us to bring this unique program into their schools.
